So, Chicago got somewhere around 16 inches of snow last night. Plows were forced to stay on major arteries all night, with orders to plow side streets only after the snow had stopped. Most side streets, as of this moment (11:08 a.m.) are still untouched, leaving drivers to contend with the shin-deep powder standing between them and the heavily-salted and nearly-clear roadways just a block or two away.
